Some huge improvements on the 400 under 18's well done the Stallans.

Different age groups equates to different handicaps.
Also Trevor I measured the Bowker track, as I had the chance to do it on the weekend and its as close as you can get to 400m.

Great handicapping on the weekend.

I agree whispers. many scratchings in the 400 so hard to gauge what might happen if all turn up.

Not taking anything away from the winner but I'm puzzled by the Gift. no probs with 4 I think who were keen to take the sash. 2 weren't.

Big win by Callahan in patching 70, will make the Bay final.

2016 Sam Osmond (3rd KP/1st Bay)

Only two winners of the Keith Patching Sprint - Amin Chehade (2009) and Tim McGuire (2013) have not gone on to make the Bay Sheffield final. The KP Sprint has produced three Bay Sheffield winners - Scott, Caldow & Osmond and another four placegetters.

In the same period, seven athletes have progressed to the Bay Sheffield final from the Brighton & Glenelg Gifts. (For 2008, 2009 & 2010 the Keith Patching Sprint was run at Glenelg.) None have won the Bay and only 3 have been placed. Jordan Tronnolone (2011) was the last Brighton Gift winner to be placed at the Bay Sheffield.

It appears most of the genuine SA Bay Sheffield contenders were in either the 70m final or the Brighton Gift final except Mitchell Tucker (won PreBay and went back 0.50m) and Brian Wilson although he appeared to sustain an injury in his semi final of the Gift. Whether he can get it right in 17 days is another issue.

Only four athletes have made both the Brighton Gift/Keith patching 70m double on the same day.

2013 - Dylan Hicks
2015 - Damian Tohl

In terms of the Bay Sheffield it seems a 'poisoned chalice' if you make both finals at Brighton. In fairness though it's more likely that once an athlete has resigned to the fact thy probably not going to make the Bay Sheffield final they may as well have a go at both.  

Most genuine Bay Sheffield contenders choose either to contest the Keith Patching 70m or the Gift.

This year there were 13 different athletes involved in the two finals.

Coming away from the Bay - I think there will be four SA athletes in the Bay Sheffield final and I'm leaning towards two from each final, although Mitchell Tucker is definitely in the mix.

There seems to be a lot of SA contenders this year. Its pretty obvious the two from the KP 70m that will be up there but from the brighton gift is a bit puzzling.

As you would be fully aware, the weeks especially leading up to the Bay Sheffield are extremely busy.
A lot of the work is from Volunteers who also have full time jobs and its also the busiest time of the year in their work places as well.
So we just need to hang ten for the time being and allow them a bit of space.
Once they are available they will be found at http://www.saal.org.au/index.php?id=30&meeting=107.
All I can suggest is log in every now and then.

I just wondered as the final times and results where up on pro track.
I thought someone may have the heat times. Or maybe it's hidden away in the schedule of events lol
