Vi ran 4th, super quick turn around from injury.

"Chris Vi eased down in the final of the 70m, due to injury." From the stewards report from Frankston.

Just an observation.

Vi was getting treatment on ground prior to heats Saturday. Was obviously better for the run and ran up to potential in semis and final.

The swirly Bendigo winds (albeit small) always throw up variances in times between rounds in the sprints. Runners have learnt not rely on times getting through. Only guarantee is to win your heat and semi to progress.

While Chis Vi was getting a massage I saw him with some paper and a pen, working on some figures.
Went something like
Bendigo 1st prize - $3000
Win Bendigo in 12.25,
Betting at Stawell, I might pay $11 at best
$200 on, get back $2200
$3000 + $2200 = $5200

Not run in first three at Bendigo, likely to be at least $41 in Stawell betting
$200 on, get back $8,200

$8200 – $5200 = $3000 profit.
And no penalty for Bendigo win.

Summary
Wait for Stawell!

Any truth to the rumour that Vi was seen eating a pizza before the final? Strange prep.

Cmon Whataboutmeitisntfair, the bookies don’t bet to lose $8k. $1000 tops then they wind the odds right in. Gemm is spot on he hasn’t got a snowballs chance in hell of winning at Stawell

You can pick up 8 grand on the tote.

We aren't sucked in by Max Mason's below average effort in the 70. That was to push the odds out. He's better than 7.75sec off 2.
He should have won the Bendigo 70. guessing he's in heavy training. Be sharp to the Max at Easter.

Mason had 7mm spikes in his shoes. This is a smart move if coming back from a hammy strain. I don't understand why he was here? Seems a long way to travel.

As for VI, he has to come back 0.50m for Stawell. To suggest he was foxing seems ludicrous. I did witness him eating the pizza. Strange diet but not a crime.

If he was happy to indulge in some pizza he may as well have helped himself to an apple krumble for dessert...
I think old mate El Chapo is on the money here with the wind readings. Both 70 & 120 had one semi final that seemed to benefit the most.

Having 8 acceptable performances for the season (of which included losing 0.15 in the semi at Keilor when everyone else found time. 13.2 and 13.4 at parkdale and maribyrnong. And not even making a semi final at Warrnambool, Terang, Hastings, Daylesford)

Ending up on 7m somehow at Bendigo. Winning the gift. And coming out with 6.25m which is still ahead of his start mark. The mind boggles.

Wow, almost as bad as not making the gift semis at Keilor and then coming out a week later and winning the big one. Also counted and looks like Adams has 11 ticks so no issues with his lifts. The mind does boggle ol scoopy.

Welcome back Scoop for season 2019/20. Looking forward to the March/April rants and analysis of all statistical errors.
Adams must have done your money or runner in semi 3.
Do enjoy watching the red runner salute.

In all fairness, and to save a fair degree of "fishing" the limit at Keilor was 14m

Keilor wasn't good day for reliable results as the conditions were not ideal.
