Improved? Really?

Aidan Green won the 70m and ran 2nd in the Gift at Daylesford. He is clearly in good form and ran accordingly at Rye.

By any fair & reasonable analysis, he was in the mix for Rye. Ended up 3rd to the Burnie Gift runner up Matt Burleigh who was far too good; probably next in line to win a decent Gift and Jason Bailey who has been in contention all season.

Neither Burleigh nor Bailey ran at Daylesford.

Aidan Green’s performance at Rye was no surprise. He’s not far away from a decent Gift win.

Great run from Masters. If there is no track allowance then her mark for Stawell has to be minus 2m for a 14sec ceiling time. Super impressive though.

Move over Maddie, I think we just witnessed the dawn of a new pro sprint Queen.

13.83 final, 13.89 semi; 8.68mps avg = minus 1.50m next entry.

Aidan Green is certainly an up and coming talent no question about that. Unfortunately for him he may have to feast on the scraps that the Team Ireland boys decide to leave behind. He is giving most of those lads ,who are of similar ability and have been in the sport a similar amount of time some handy starts. His time will come though. An interesting time in the sport is upon us as we head into some of the bigger gifts

I wouldn’t have thought winning a a Keilor Gift off 6m would have placed Maddie as the former Queen of Pro Running anyhow ESTR. Dobbyn’s credentials are one that springs to mind that are a lot better. But you are right we seem to have a new Queen.

Only focusing on Rye performances thatsthestats, and from a speed point of view. Hence phrasing ‘dawn’
Could see Masters matching a Coates 11.5 pb in a 100m run.
Would be a great match race, both with strong back ends of the race.
Dobbyn would be up there for quality wins sprint queen -
Stawell, Ballarat, Rye Gifts & Stawell fronties 400m at the top.

Ok fair enough ESTR. I would love to see them face off in a big Final off similar marks. It would be a great spectacle. Dunno if it will happen being an Olympic year. Maybe they may run in a relay together for Australia down the track

Brilliant runs by Masters at Rye. Fantastic!

Her two runs give her an rpm of .1152 (equivalent to 11.52 on grass ....and the grass deck at Rye was very green and soft, it was not hard or quick).
Based on her new rpm she has to come back to ceiling time of 14.00 which would put her on 1.50m. However she then has to incur a winning penalty for Rye being a further minimum of 1.25m. It being her second win over 120m this season (she won Somerset in Qld in Oct) she probably will receive a further 0.25m in addition (also not eligible for any Stawell lift due to two wins) that will put her on -1.75m. She will clearly still handle that.
Field will therefore be lifted 1.75m for Stawell if she enters. Bad luck for the front that will get squashed on the limit of 11m.

I dont think pros will be her focus though. Her performances were that good she will probably set her sights on winning the National Title. On a good track she is on target to go sub 11.50 which puts her right in the frame. (Only one person quicker than that last season).

Match race vs Coates will occur in ammos and I think Masters has her covered comfortably by 1 to 2m.

Sorry, I got some of that wrong her new mark would be -1.50 to take it ceiling and then also minus the winning penalty of 1.50m.
Her New Mark is therefore - 3m. (Back 2.75m in total for net time breaking and then penalty).

That will be Bad luck for the front who will be squashed on the limit when the field is lifted 3m for her inclusion.
